RAJOURI, OCTOBER 07: District
Development Commissioner Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary today issued
directions for placing 35 officials under suspension and deduction of their
respective one-day salary as well as departmental action after these officials
were found unauthorizedly absent from their duties during a surprise
inspection.
Additional DDC, Avtar Singh Chib, Chief Planning Officer, A.H.
Choudhary, Assistant Commissioner Defence, Ramkesh Sharma and Functional
Manager, DIC Khalil-ur-Rehman lead teams conducted simultaneous inspections in
13 Government offices and institutions operating in the district to check
attendance and punctuality.
The inspection teams found 35 officials on unauthorized absence from
their duties which included four officials in CMO office, three in Deputy CMO
office, two in PHE Sub-Division, two in Veterinary Hospital, four in
Sericulture Development Office, two in PHE Lab, five in Exen EM&RE office,
one in Boys HSS Rajouri and 13 in the office of Project Officer IWMP.
During the inspections, entire staff of Project Officer DUDA was found
absent except one orderly, for which separate enquiry is being conducted.
Leave registers and attendance registers were also seized from all
offices and service books of the absentees have also been requisitioned from
DDOs.
Directions have been issued to District Treasury for withholding salary
of officers /officials till completion of departmental enquiry and subsequent
necessary action.
Apart from officials found absent from duty some other officials were
shown in records as deputed on duty which is being examined and verified.
