‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ week starts in Ganderbal

          

GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 09: ADDC Ganderbal, kick started a week- long “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” campaign organized by District Administration Ganderbal in collaboration with Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Ganderbal and Al-habib Health Society (NGO) here today.

         District Programme Officer ICDS, CPO, Dy CEO, District Health Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and CDPO’s of Lar and Ganderbal were also present on the occasion.

          Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC highlighted the need and importance of ‘Save the girl child' campaign. He said that such awareness camps would help in ensuring empowerment of women through education and equal participation in all the fields, besides preventing sex selective elimination of girl child.  ADDC also said a girl is the ray of hope not only for the parents but for the nation as a whole. He stressed that everyone in the society has to pledge that every girl would be given the due respect.

          Among others Supervisors, Aaganwadi workers of ICDS Department, Aasha workers from health, Girl students of various institutions and a large number of women were present on the occasion.
