GANDERBAL, OCTOBER 04: District Development Commissioner
Ganderbal, Dr. Piyush Singla today conducted a public durbar at Kangan to
listen to the grievances of the public at their doorsteps under ‘Aap ki
Sarkar–Aap ki Dwar’ initiative.
SSP Ganderbal, Fayaz Ahmad Lone, Additional District Development
Commissioner, N.A Baba, SDM Kangan, ACR Ganderbal, and were also present on the
occasion.
During the camp, issues regarding road connectivity, water supply, power
infrastructure, rational and speedy ration supply, removal of encroachments
from various irrigation canals, de-silting of various canals, upgradation of
link roads, unplugging of drains, power facility, proper upkeep of
transformers, transportation facility, decongestion of the town, beautification
and sanitation of the town, proper manning of various SDHs and PHCs,
construction of culverts and flood protection bunds were projected by the
people.
The DDC
gave a patient hearing to the public grievances and issued on spot directions
to concerned officers for immediate redressal of the projected demands. He
directed them to furnish the action taken report within a week.
Responding
to the power supply complaints, Executive Engineer PDD apprised the durbar that
DPRs for repair of street lights in areas of Kangan will be submitted for accord of
approval.

said that macadamization of the main road and link roads in Kangan area are
being taken in hand shortly whereas these works are executed in phase wise
manner as per availability of funds, the
The DDC enjoined engineers of Irrigation and Flood Control to
prioritize renovation and cleanliness of Baba Canal and other Canals to boost
agriculture and Horticulture sectors in the area. Besides, he called for
holding awareness camps of agriculture and horticulture at Tehsil level.
He impressed upon locals to cooperate with the administration in
removing encroachments and extend helping hand in the early execution of
development schemes.
