| Reviews physical, financial achievements under various schemes |
JAMMU, OCTOBER 21: Minister
for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga today reviewed the physical
and financial progress of centrally sponsored schemes and works being executed
by J&K SICOP under Prime Minister’s Development Package.
Commissioner/Secretary Industries and Commerce Department Shailendra
Kumar, officers of Directorate of Handicrafts, Handlooms, Geology and Mining,
JKEDI, SIDCO, SICOP, JK Minerals, JK Cements Pvt Ltd, Khadi and Village
Industries Board, Handloom Development Corporation, Handicrafts Development
Corporation and other concerned departments were present in the meeting.
The meeting reviewed the progress of works including
reconstruction/repairs of damages to DIC building at Anantnag CFC Sether and
Leather Centre at Exhibition Ground, upgrading of Industrial Estates in
Anantnag, Anchidora, Bijbehara, Pulwama and Zakura. The Minster was informed
that the works on IID Centre Udhampur Phase-I and Phase-II including IID Centre
Govindsar Kathua stands completed.
It was also informed in the meeting that the upgrading works of Kashmir
Government Arts Emporium, restoration of damaged infrastructural works of Guest
house at Kashmir Hatt in Srinagar, Crafts Community Centre at Ikhrajpora and
Crafts Community Centre at Saidakadal have been completed.
The Minister also took stock of restoration of road network, side and
cross drainage, water supply, fire-fighting and electric system at E/C,
Rangreth, I/E Khunmoh, I/E Shalteng, IGC Lassipora, Head Office Rambagh, I/C
Bari Brahmana, IGC Samba, I/E Ghatti in Kathua and I/E Govindsar in Kathua. The
Minister directed the officers to work day in and day out for completion of
these projects within the fixed timelines and called for maintaining strict
quality standards.
Minister conducted thorough review of development of I/E Ghatti,
upgrading of infrastructure facilities at IID centre Battal Ballian in
Udhampur, I/E Bari Brahmana, I/E Khunmoh Phase I and II, Electronics Complex
Rangreth and construction of Mega Leather Cluster, National Institute of
Fashion Technology, Modern Carpet Looms, National Mission on Food Processing
and progress under Integrated Skill Development Scheme.
The Minister directed the Heads of the Departments to submit annual
reports about physical and financial achievements of their concerned
departments and corporation by the end of this month.
