DODA, OCTOBER 13: District
Disaster Management Authority, Doda celebrated International Day for Disaster
Risk Reduction, in collaboration with SDRF, F&ES, Police, Army, and Medical
Department at Sports Stadium, here today.
The
programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Mohammad Hanief
Malik, ACR Tariq Hussain Naik, Tehsildar Doda Nasir Ali Natnoo, Dy
Superintendent of Police Iftikhar Ahmed, Lt Col Alok Pratab Singh, CMO Doda,
Nodal Officer Disaster Management and other heads from different departments of
the Civil Administration.
The representatives of Chenab Rescuers and Doda Development Front and a
large gathering of school students and civil society members were also
present.
The programme witnessed First Aid Training imparted by SDRF and Army,
mock drill for Search and Rescue exercise by Fire & Emergency Services,
SDRF and Army. The preparedness training was followed by mock Exercise jointly
by Medical Teams, F&ES teams and SDRF teams.
The youth were asked to get the due benefit of the mock exercise and be
helping hands as and when such need arises.
Nodal
Officer for Disaster Management Ashiq Hussain Rather gave a detailed lecture on
the Day and its need in the present scenario of J&K, as state being the
most vulnerable to many Natural and manmade disasters. He also highlighted the
goals and Objectives of the day.
Speaking on the occasion, Lt. Col. Alok Pratap Singh also stressed on
the need to regularly organize such events in collaboration with civil
Administration and defence. He elaborated on the role Army can play
in handling emergent situations.
