JCO killed in militant ambush in central Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 9: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) was killed when militants ambushed an Army patrol in central Kashmir district of Budgam. Defence Ministry spokesperson Colonel Rajesh Kalia told UNI that an Army patrolling party came under fire last night at Drang in Budgam. He said a soldier was killed in the ambush. The troops retaliated but the militants managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Official sources identified the JCO as Rajkumar of 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR). UNI
