SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 3: A review meeting was held today to monitor the
progress regarding implementation of various MHRD schemes in north Indian
states.
The meeting was chaired by Union Secretary MHRD, Anil Swarup. Secretary
School Education Farooq Ahmed Shah, Members of National Council for
Teacher Education, Senior Officers from MHRD, Special Project Directors of RMSA
& SSA of participating states including Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, Haryana,
Himachal Pradesh, J&K, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi were present in the meeting.
The representatives of different states provided the details about the
progress of the activities related to school education in their respective
states.
Secretary MHRD appreciated the states about the progress in different
schemes and stressed on expediting effective implementation of schemes.
The Secretary MHRD also reviewed implementation of centrally sponsored
schemes and asked the representatives of states to gear up for achieving the
objectives of schemes.
The meeting also discussed road map to achieve goals in infrastructure
building, training, DIETs and up- gradation of school education.
Swarup expressed keen interest in upgrading the infrastructure of school
education in J&K and hoped that it is one of the priority sectors of the
state.
He stressed on sharing ideas and roadmaps between different states in
achieving the positive results of the schemes.
"Idea
to meet here is that states with similar or difficult things do and learn from
each other," Swarup said.
The social networking can be bring positive change in school education, the
Secretary asked the officials to get all officers, teachers on twitter for
remarkable positive use.
