Motorman suspended after trains collide at Panskura

Kolkata, Oct 23: The South Eastern Railway authorities have suspended a motor man after the 38502 Dn Balichak-Howrah EMU crashed into the rear-end of the stationary 38818 Dn Midnapur- Howrah local at Haur and Panskura station yesterday. However, there had been no casualty in the mishap. Around 14.42 hrs 38502 Dn Balichak-Howrah local hit the rear of the stationary 38818 Dn Midnapur- Howrah Local at KM 73.06 between Haur and Panskura stations on Automatic Signaling System of working on Howrah – Kharagpur section. The mishap affected normal schedule of the trains plying on the mainline for a couple of hours and resumed at around 17.30 hrs. Initial report said the motor man was found guilty in the mishap and put under suspension as an inquiry was started by the additional General Manager of South Eastern Railway. UNI
