| DDC Shopian convenes meeting |
SHOPIAN, OCTOBER 26: District
Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, today convened a meeting
of concerned officers to resolve issues regarding the execution of ongoing
works on the Northern Region Strengthening Scheme (NRSS) project,
During the meeting, threadbare discussion was held regarding the latest
status of the project. The DDC directed the concerned agency to follow
environmental laws in letter and spirit.
The DDC also took up the issues of NRSS-XXIX with the Wildlife
Department pertaining to the execution of the project and directed the agency
to resolve their issues with the Wildlife Department at an earliest.
Emphasizing that the project is of national importance and has
considerable impact on the State and its economy, the DDC gave directions to
the executing agency to take utmost care of environmental imperatives and
ensure that ecology is not affected at any cost.
