Oct 12: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday issued
non-bailable arrest warrants against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman
Imran Khan. According to a Samaa report, the warrants were issued in contempt
of court case that is being heard by a five-member ECP Bench headed by Chief
Election Commissioner Sardar Muhammad Raza. The Bench has ordered authorities
to arrest and produce Imran Khan before the commission on Oct 26. Speaking to
reporters, meanwhile, Imran Khan’s counsel Babar Awan vowed to challenge the
decision in Supreme Court. He said the commission can’t issue its verdict in a
case which is a subjudice matter before Supreme Court, the Samaa report added.
