Delhi, Oct 13: The Supreme Court on Friday referred to a constitution
bench the case pertaining ban on women's entry, in the age group of 15-50, into
the Sabrimala temple. A three-judge bench of the apex court, headed by Chief
Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and also comprising Justices AM Khanwilkar
and DY Chandrachud, passed the order. The apex court also raised six questions
on the issue to consider these by the constitution bench. These questions
include whether the women were stopped from entering the temple due to gender
discrimination and whether such kind of ban hurts the religious practice of the
fairer sex. UNI
