SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 14: Minister of State for Forest,
Environment, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Cooperative, Mir Zahoor
Ahmad today said that the present dispensation is committed to ensure holistic
development and measures are afoot to upgrade infrastructure under core sectors
to achieve the goal of sustained development of the State.
The Minister said this during
interacting with various public deputations during his extensive tour of
various villages in Pampore Constituency after launching macadamization and
other developmental projects in the area.
He said that the Mehbooba Mufti led
Government has given top priority to provide better road facility to all
habitations including remote and far-flung areas to ensure speedy and all-round
development of all areas of the State. He said similarly, water and drinking
water facility along with good health, education and power services are being ensured.
The Minister said that the
Constituency has witnessed unprecedented development in all sectors during the
tenures of former Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed be it the construction
of roads, opening of health and educational institutions, providing drinking
water and irrigation facilities.
He said to promote saffron
cultivation in the area a number of water pumps and sprinkle irrigation pumps
have been constructed under the Saffron Mission. He said Degree College at Pampore
and a large number of high and higher secondary schools have been opened in the
Constituency to ensure increased access to quality education. He said AIMMS and
Nursing College at Awantipora and upgradation of facilities at other health
centres has ensured improved health care in the Constituency.
Enroute, several deputations met the
Minister and apprised him about their individual and collective problems
related to construction of lanes, culverts, replacement of damaged poles and
early sanctioning of timber on concessional rates. The Minister gave them a patient
hearing and assured them that all of their genuine demands will be looked into
and redressed on priority.
