BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 25: District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Sajjad
Hussain inaugurated a day-long training programme on Emergency Management,
organized by Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW), here
today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Khurshid Ahmad Sanai, Deputy Chief
Education Officer Bandipora G M Lone, DSP SDRF Abdul Rashid, DSWO, media
persons and a good number of volunteers besides other concerned were present on
the occasion.
Speaking on the
occasion, the DDC appreciated the work of the Association. He said the purpose
of training is to equip youth from most vulnerable communities who are the
first respondents in any disaster situation. He stressed upon the volunteers to
fully understand the aims and objectives of JKASW so that they can deliver most
efficiently where ever required.
He further said that district administration has listed volunteers from all
vulnerable villages of the district and has prepared a database to minimize the
losses during any eventuality.
The Project Coordinator JKASW, Ambreen Bashir gave the details of the
Association and said that awareness programmes were carried out in all the 10
vulnerable villages of the district situated at Wullar banks. The training
was given by the instructors of 1st BN SDRF Srinagar.
Later, a mock drill regarding
evacuation and rescue measures was also held.
