BUDGAM, NOVEMBER 30: District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik today distributed cheques among the women beneficiaries of 45 self-help groups worth Rs 4.5 lakh during an awareness programme held by District Urban Development Agency Budgam at Sheikh-ul-Alam hall in Budgam.
District Urban Development Agency Budgam provided these cheques to women beneficiaries under the DeendayalAntyodayaYojna-National Urban Livelihood Mission scheme to help these skilled women to become self-reliant and for their economic boost.  
The DDC urged unemployed women to register themselves with these self-help groups so as to become self-reliant.
 Project Officer, District Urban Development Agency Budgam and Assistant Project Officer who were also present on the occasion, informed the women partisans about the different state and central level schemes for the uplift of poor women, living in urban areas.
They said that the department provides loan up to Rs 10 lakh to a self-help group comprising at least 10-members on interest subsidy to help these skilled women to promote their economic activity.
During the programme, Assistant Project officer informed that house loans on interest subsidy, shelters for homeless, rehabilitation of street vendors were other departmental schemes for the economic upliftment of the poor families.
