KUPWARA, NOVEMBER 17: District Police Line (DPL) Kupwara today organized a workshop on disaster preparedness.
The workshop chaired by the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Khalid Jahangir was attended by the officers from the departments of Civil Defence, SDRF, Fire and Emergency Services, Health, Education, Revenue, Information department, Police department. Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Kupwara appreciated the work done by the concerned field workers. He urged upon them to be ready to meet any form of eventuality in times of accidents, earthquake, floods, fire and other natural disasters. The DDC also impressed upon the organizers to impart necessary training to youth about the rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the disasters, besides continuation of the mock drills at hot spots in the district.  During the workshop the participant were informed about the preparedness drive initiated by the Civil Defence, SDRF, and F&ES. Later volunteers did a mock drill to display the rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures to be taken in case of emergency.
