BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 11: To review
preparedness of various Departments to ensure availability of basic amenities
and essential services to people during winter months, Deputy Commissioner , Sajad
Hussain chaired a meeting of concerned officers here today.
Various issues like power supply, drinking water, ration, medicines and
other essential commodities besides snow clearance and water logging were
discussed threadbare during the meeting.
The
meeting was informed that Mechanical Engineering Department has kept 13 snow
clearance machines including 6 high power machines available for border
sub-division Gurez, while as R&B Department, Municipal Committee and BEACON
will extend their cooperation in road clearance operations in areas under their
jurisdiction.
The
Deputy Commissioner on the occasion directed the officers to ensure that there
is no dearth of essential commodities in severe winter conditions so that
people do not face any inconvenience. He said that buffer stock of food grains,
LPG cylinders should be ensured besides adequate supply of power as per the
curtailment schedule should be implemented in letter and spirit.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer
Bandipora was also present in the meeting.
