RAJOURI NOVEMBER 10; District
Administration, Rajouri, has initiated process for construction of SDM and SDPO
offices at Thanamandi along with upgradation of Tehsil office and other
Government establishment for effective and better public service delivery.
Deputy Commissioner Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary along with SSP Yougal
Manhas, SDM Afzal Mirza, Addl. SP Mohammad Yousuf, SDPOs Iftkhar Choudhary, Dr.
Imtiaz and other senior officers initiated the construction of SDM and SDPO
office at Thanamandi.
In view of long pending demand for establishment of SDM and SDPO
offices the State Government has started the construction process for both the
offices in premises of Revenue Complex in Thanamandi town. It will also involve
upgradation of existing Tehsil office. Local residents appreciated the prompt
decision for construction of both the offices.
DC Dr. Shahid Iqbal directed the executing agency for completion of
project in 3-4 months enabling early shifting and establishment of offices for
better public service delivery. He also directed for including a Conference
Hall in the DPR which will provide space for meetings. He also asked for proper
parking space and keeping scope for vertical expansion of buildings. Directions
were also issued for working out infrastructure requirement of Court Complex
Thanamandi and Bar Association so that same is provided at an earliest in view
of urgent requirement of visiting public. Proposal related to construction of
bus stand was also discussed.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Yougal Manhas informed that creation of
SDPO office and joint establishment will go a long way in effective
coordination of enforcement agencies and resolution of public grievances.
SDM Afzal Mirza presented a resume of a number of activities initiated
for better public service delivery, disposal of grievances and about a score of
public demands related to construction of roads, shifting of bridge,
construction of community sanitary complex, bus stand and other amenities in
and around Thanamandi.
Later, the team of officers conducted inspection of various
developmental works and proposals for works of public importance.
