SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 10: Director
Agriculture Kashmir, Altaf Aijaz Andrabi chaired a review meeting on the
establishment of Sprinkle System under National Saffron Mission (NSM) here at
Lal Mandi.
The Director was informed that out of targeted 124 bore-wells, 108 have
been dug out and handed over to Mechanical Engineering Department (MED) and MED
has harnessed 82 wells, whereas installation of sprinkle system stands
completed at 12 sites and other 52 sites are under progress. Meanwhile, 10
sites are operational whereas two sites need repairs.
During the meeting, the Director Agriculture asked Chief Agriculture
Officer (CAO) Budgam to identify sites along the periphery of Chewweader,
Nowgam so that the area is brought under irrigation. However, CAO informed the chair that certain areas in Khrew, Wuyan have
very deep-water table and need digging.
