DDC reviews functioning of Health Department |

District Health Society Rajouri (District Development Commissioner) Dr. Shahid
Iqbal Choudhary today said a ‘Drug
De-Addiction Centre’ would be soon established at district hospital and funds to
the tune of Rs 20 Lakh have already been earmarked for the same.
He was speaking at a meeting of health department functionaries convened
to review its performance vis-à-vis
construction of buildings of NTPHCs, health sub-centers and staff quarters,
implementation of ‘Free Diagnostic Tests’ scheme and consolidation staff and
infrastructure in various health institutes of the district.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Suresh Sharma, while giving a detailed
presentation, informed that under NABARD 6 works including one PHC at Dodaj and
two NTPHCs at Mohra Draj and Samote are taken up at a cost of Rs. 1.96 crore.
He further informed that the department has targeted to complete the
health sub-centers at Saroola, Niharkassi, Paryali, Dandesar, Potha, Broh,
Hubbi Kallar, Harthal besides PHC Darkari in district during current financial year.
Referring to establishment of ‘Drug De-Addiction Center’ at DH,
Dr. Shahid said it will go a long way in rehabilitation of youth who are caught up in
the drug abuse.
The issue of unwarranted delay in execution of work on some buildings of
health department by the concerned agencies was viewed seriously. The DDC
directed the CMO to furnish the list of such buildings to fix the
responsibility on the executing agency.
The CPO
was directed for technical inspection of buildings in view of complaints of
shortcomings.
It was also decided that the BMOs will ensure the entry of health department
land in revenue records to safeguard it from encroachers.
The DDC took serious view of officials attached outside the district. He
directed the concerned to provide details of all such employees who are
attached outside the district in a day so that action under rules can be
initiated in the matter. He also impressed upon the CMO to carry out a holistic
exercise for rationalization of staff.
He also passed directions to expedite the work for opening of remaining
approved centres under National Health Mission so that public can avail
services.
Medical Superintendent of district hospital was impressed upon to work
out the requirements and modalities for making it a model hospital so that
necessary steps can be taken in this regard.
The DDC also reviewed the availability of various diagnostic facilities
in the district and peripheral hospitals for effective implementation of ‘Free
Diagnostic Tests’ scheme.
The meeting was attended by CPO Abdul Hamid, MS Dr. Mehmood Hussaun
Bajar, Dy. CMO Dr. Anis A. Nabi, District Tuberculosis Officer Dr. Mohammad
Anwar, all Block Medical Officers and Community Health Officers.
