SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 02: Minister
for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today convened a meeting to review
the progress of various developmental works undertaken by Rural Development
Department in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency.
The meeting was attended by Director Rural Development, Gazanfer Ali,
Assistant Commissioner Development Budgam, Executive Engineer REW Budgam, BDOs,
AEE’s and other concerned officers.
The Minister was informed that under MGNERAGA a total of 756 works have
been started by the Department in the constituency during the current fiscal on
which around Rs 11.56 crore are being spent. He was told that under the PMAY,
43 beneficiaries have been given the first installment of Rs 1.50 lakh.
During the meeting, the Minister was briefed about progress on various
developmental works under other schemes in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency.
On the occasion, the Minister directed the officials to pace up the
work and complete all the pending works within two months’ time.
Hanjura directed the officers to complete all formalities for setting
up of community center at Kanir. He also directed them to start the work on
playing field at Rupora, besides asked them to complete pending work of Batpora-Kawkoot
Baldore road within a month’s time.
The Minister said that State Government has started a massive
developmental programme with an aim to provide basic amenities to the people at
their doorsteps.
He said that up-grading of school infra, construction of roads and
improving healthcare facilities are among top priorities of the present
dispensation. He expressed hope that the current Government would live up to
the expectations of the people.
