Bengaluru, Nov 9: IT officials conducted raid on the office and residence of AIADMK Karnataka Secretary Pugalendi as part of the raids being carried out in Chennai on various premises relating to the relatives of prisoned AIADMK leader V K Sasikala.
Sources said that IT Officials, who arrived from Chennai, first went to AIADMK office at Sriramapuram and collected some papers kept in a car parked in the garage. Pugalendi Advocate Krishnappa claimed that the IT officials are targeting AIADMK leader V K Sasikala and her followers and this raid was politically motivated. The raid is still continuing. He said that it was alleged that Pugalendi helped late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in getting finance for her release in disproportionate assets case in which Sasikala, Sudhakaran and Illavarsi were convicted and sentenced to four years imprisonment.  Sasikala, Sudhakaran, disowned adopted son of Jayalalithaa, and Illavarasi are serving the jail term at Central Jail in Parappana Agrahara, in the outskirts of the City.
