Gorakhpur, Nov 22: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday claimed that
opposition parties have almost accepted their defeat in the state civic polls
and only BJP can provide better urban facilities to the citizens.
" BJP is set to repeat the feat of the 2017 Assembly
polls as people are supporting the party candidates in the entire state,"
he said. The Chief Minister was speaking to media after casting his
vote at the primary girls school polling booth near Gorakhnath temple. Mr
Adityanath was among the first VVIPs in the state to cast his vote after the
polling started at 0730 hrs. "The opposition stands nowhere in these elections and
have almost given walkover to BJP. The poll trends are in favour of the BJP
candidates", the Chief Minister said, and ensured people that the party
was committed to uplift of basic infrastructure in the urban areas. "We will strengthen the local bodies and focus on
solving problems of the street vendors and run anti-encroachment drive to end
traffic snarls," he said, adding that the schemes like Smart Cities
Mission, AMRUIT and Deen Dayal Upadhyay will end the miseries of the urban
population. He also said that the local bodies would be made more powerful. He would be campaigning in Allahabad and Varanasi today where
