PoS machines launched in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 22:  Commissioner Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Mehraj-ud-Din Khan today launched Point of Sale (PoS) machines at Nagbal Sale Centre of District Ganderbal. 

Director FCS&CA Nisar Ahmad Wani, ADDC Ganderbal, N.A Baba were present on the ocassion.

Giving details about the project, the Commissioner Secretary said installation of PoS machines is one of the important components of Government’s initiative of digitizing the entire FCS&CA department through electronic Public Distribution System and a step towards transparency of the department.

The Commissioner Secretary informed that all the PoS machines will be Aadhar enabled with an inbuilt speaker. He further said PoS machine will also calculate the amount which consumers are required to pay for their ration.

Later, Commissioner Secretary convened a meeting in Mini Secretariat, DC Office Complex Ganderbal to review stock and supply position and current scenario of his Department in Ganderbal.

In the meeting, Commissioner Secretary took stock of availability of essential commodities, winter stocking at far-flung areas of the district Ganderbal.

The AD Food Ganderbal, Erim Aziz informed the Commissioner Secretary about the stock and supply position of essentials and also informed him about the developmental scenario of the district.
