Kolkata, Nov 15: Two antique dealers of New Delhi, accused of stealing some 16 Kashmiri shawls of Mughal period from National Handicrafts and Handlooms Museum at Bhairon Marg in Delhi, have been arrested in a joint operation from city's southern part, nearly two weeks after those antique materials found missing.
The shawls are of the period of 16th century of Mogul dynasty founder Babur. The Delhi Police in association with Kolkata police tracing the mobile phones
have arrested Binoy Parmar and Tarun Hargoria on Monday last and taken to them
to Delhi on transit remand. The Delhi police said the museum authorities discovered that those historical
shawls of the 16th century were missing on October 31 last. An FIR was also
lodged at Tilak Mard police station in New Delhi. During investigation and examination of CCTV footage, the Delhi police found
that two suspects had entered into the museum but they were not seen on exit. While Tarun is a resident of Tollygunge and has an antique shop in New Delhi
and Binoy Parmer, a resident of Gujarast has his in-laws house in Kolkata.' The duo was produced in the Alipore chief judicial magistrate court, which
granted Delhi police for three days' transit remand.for further investigation. Museum authorities said the two posed as scholars researching the history of
shawls and had done a recce of the museum earlier. According to police, they used blades to cut open the lamination on the shawls
