REASI, DECEMBER 07: Minister of State for Finance and Planning
Ajay Nanda today inspected the pace of progress of ongoing works of lanes and
drains here in holy town Katra.
The Minister was accompanied by engineers and functionaries of
municipality.
The Minister visited to Ward No 2 and inspected the pace
of construction work of a community hall. He asked the concerned to adhere to
quality norms and complete the project in a time bound manner.
Meanwhile, the Minister inspected the work of central drains and
the quality of material being used for construction work in ward 13, and Ward
No. 11. The people thanked him for initiating the construction of lanes pending
since 35 years. He asked the concerned officers to complete all works before
close of financial year.
On the request of the local people, the Minister also announced
Rs One lakh out of his CDF for more civic works and asked the department to
prepare the detailed project report on priority. He also expressed satisfaction
over the quality of development works nearing completion.
While interacting with the locals, the Minister said that it is
due to the people’s cooperation that the institutions of governance are being
strengthened at grassroots level. He said every individual has prominent role
to raise the concerns of the people at appropriate forums.
He
exhorted upon the people to come forward to reap the benefits of schemes
especially meant to meet their aspirations.
