SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 09: The Minister for Education, Syed Mohammad
Alta Bukhari today inaugurated the divisional-level Chief Minister's Super-50
Coaching Programme at Government Girls' High School Hyderpora here.
The tutorial programme has been organized by Directorate of
School Education in collaboration with NGOs Chinar International and AVANTI.
Speaking on the occasion, Bukhari said that 1263 students have
been selected for the coaching programme on the basis of merit and screening
test and they will be taught in 13 coaching centres across Kashmir division.
The Minister said all the arrangements including availability of
experienced staff, heating and lighting systems have been put in place for the
smooth conduct of the programme. He further said that the teachers of the
coaching centres who will show the best result will be awarded.
On the occasion, MLA Batamaloo, Noor Mohammad Shah, Secretary
School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah, DC Srinagar, Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah,
Director School Education Kashmir, Dr G.N Itoo, Special Project Director SSA,
Abdul Rashid War, Chairman Private Schools Association, G.N Var, CEOs of
various districts, Principals of various Higher Secondary Schools,
representatives of Chinar International and AVANTI and other concerned
officials of education department were present.
Commenting on the increasing menace of private coaching centres
in the Valley, Altaf Bukhari said, “Private coaching centres have become money
minting centres and there is need to do away with them.” He appealed the
parents not to overburden their children by sending them to schools as well as
coaching centres. “Parents should believe in us as we provide the quality
education and have highly qualified teachers in our schools.”
He said mushrooming growth of private coaching centres is an
insult to the school teachers. He said that there are few students who need
extra care and may need some more coaching but overall there is no need for
private coaching for the students.
Speaking
on the occasion, Secretary School Education, Farooq Ahmad Shah announced that
the result for the recently held Matric examinations shall be declared by
December end.
