DELHI, DECEMBER 16 - Minister for Health
and Medical Education Bali Bhagat, today called on Union Minister
for Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda and discussed with him several
initiatives, issues pertaining to streamlining and development of healthcare in
the state.
The
Union Minister, after a detailed deliberation on various matters on the
subject, assured the state Minister that the Center government would extend
every support to J&K for taking the health sector towards a better position.
Later,
Bali Bhagat visited RP Ophthalmology Centre at AIIMS, New Delhi.
Medical Superintendent, RP Centre, Dr. Shakti Gupta,
briefed the Minister regarding the activities and facilities available in the
centre.
The Minister took a
round of all the sections of the centre and interacted with the Faculty Members
enquiring them about the diagnostic and treatment services available there.
The Minister, who is
keen to facilitate the people of the state with the facility of cornea
transplantation in both the divisions of the state, had a detailed idea and
description of this vital medical service from the Center. Besides, he was also
briefed about the status of kidney, liver and heart transplantation at AIIMS.
Dr. Gupta assured all
support and co-operation in opening eye banks in both the Medical Colleges of
the state. He assured the Minister that they will prioritize training to the
doctors deputed by JK Government.
The Minister also
discussed various other issues like short term training of officers dealing
with hospital administration in the state at AIIMS to improve their knowledge with
developed skills in the field.
