New Delhi, Dec 23: The BJP on Saturday wasted no time to welcome the CBI court verdict that
convicted former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in the
multi-crore fodder scam and said, the court ruling is on the expected lines.
"Jo boya vo paaya! boya per babool kaa tho aam kahaam se
hoye. Yeh tho hona hi thaa (As you sow, so shall you reap. You don't get
mangoes in thorny-bush. the court ruling is on the expected lines)",
senior BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi tweeted.
Mr Modi also pointed out that he was one of the petitioners in the fodder scam public Interest litigation (PIL) which resulted in CBI inquiry under the supervision the Patna high court.
The fodder scam in Bihar involves embezzlement of Rs 9.4 million that allegedly was carried out by numerous state government officials and elected leaders and initially broke out in 1996.
The scandal actually highlighted extensive nexus of politicians, business people and bureaucrats. UNI
