Exhorts youth to avail optimum benefit of Govt schemes

JAMMU, DECEMBERR 16 - Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh, today called upon the unemployed youth to start their own ventures for earning a dignified livelihood and become job providers rather than job seekers.

“Entrepreneurial ventures are an effective instrument in tackling the mounting unemployment menace in the state”, the Minister maintained while emphasizing optimal utilization of government schemes by the youth.

The Minister said this after inaugurating Andritz Hydro Power Plant office at Hotel Radisson in Narwal here.

Chief Conservator of Forests Farooq Gillani, Regional Director Pollution Control Board Ch Showkat Ali, Joint Director Soil Water and Conservation Pawan Kudyar, Regional Director Wildlife Dr. V.S Sinthil Kumar, Conservator West Circle Kh Qamar-ud-Din besides MD and CEO Andritz Hydro Power Plant Josef M Ullmer, MD and CMO Mahadevan Anand and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.  

The Minister further said the government is providing loans on subsidy basis to unemployed youth of the State for encouraging them to establishment small and large scale units through DICs, KVIB and KVIC on minimal rates of interest. He urged the unemployed youth to take benefit of such schemes for starting their own ventures.

Choudhary Lal Singh said that various state and centrally sponsored schemes for unemployed youth have evoked a great response in terms of registration by the youth in seeking employability avenues.

The Minister stressed upon the officers to provide proper information and guidance to the youth so that they can avail the benefits of various self-employment schemes.

He said the employment fairs being organized across the state, besides establishment of counseling centers were an important step taken by the government in providing vital information to the youth regarding employment opportunities. He exhorted for making these counseling centers fully functional so that the targeted lot can be benefitted.

The Minister appreciated the efforts of proprietor of Andritz Hydro Power plant on the opening of its regional office in Jammu that would help the unemployed youth by providing job and also helped the government in providing latest technique equipments to improve the power scenario in the State.
