REASI, DECEMBER 4: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi
Lone Hanjura today conducted extensive tour of various areas of the district
and reviewed status of implementation of several schemes under Agriculture and
Sericulture sectors.
The Minister was accompanied by Director Agriculture
Jammu, H. K. Razdan, Director Sericulture, Mir Tariq Ali, Director CAD,
Jitender Singh, ADC Reasi Babu Ram, Chief Agriculture officer Reasi, Vinod
Dhar, Dy project officer CSS Reasi, Rimash Kumar Khosa and other senior officers
of concerned departments.
On the occasion, the Minister inaugurated Automatic
Absorption Spectrophotometric (AAS) unit in Soil Testing Lab established to
facilitate the farmers with modern methods of soil testing. He also inspected
various blocks of the soil testing Lab and took stock of working of various
units.
During his visit to Seed Multiplication Farm at Granwala,
the Minister was informed that a total of 11 acre of land is being cultivated
under various crops here including Pulses, Wheat and other seasonal varieties.
The Minister also visited Mushroom cultivation Centre at
Granwala where he was briefed about various stages of Mushroom cultivation and
facilities being provided to farmers to promote its production in the district.
The Minister, during his visit to departmental Nursery of
Sericulture department at Granwala, had a detailed review of production and
facilities available there.
Meanwhile, Hanjura conducted review meeting of officers of
Agriculture and Sericulture departments and took stock of various schemes being
implemented by the departments in Reasi and Ramban districts.
During the meeting, the Minister was informed that around
12 schemes have been initiated by the department in the twin districts which
inter alia include National Mission on Agriculture Extension and Technology
(NMAET), National Food Security Mission (NFSM), RashtriyaKrishiVikasYojana
(RKYY), National Mission on Oilseed and oil Palm (NMOOP), National Mission for
Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA), Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY),
Pradhan Mantri Krishi Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bhima Yojana
(PMFBY).
Hanjura directed concerned officers that schemes initiated
by the department should extend optimum benefit to the people so that goal of
doubling the farmer’s
income would be achieved by 2022.
He also directed officers to conduct regular awareness
programmes in far flung and rural areas to educate farmers about the schemes of
the department.
It was informed that district level exhibitions will be
conducted in every district soon.
The Minister exhorted upon the concerned officers to
complete the ongoing works within the fixed time frame.
