Srinagar, Dec 5: Three militants, who were involved in Amarnath Yatra attack, were killed in an
encounter with security forces in south Kashmir.
Eight pilgrims were killed and about 20 others were injured
when the militants attacked their bus on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway on
July 10, 2017. The pilgrims were on way to Katra in Jammu after paying
obeisance at Amarnath Cave shrine. Taking to micro blogging site twitter, Director General of
Police (DGP) S P Vaid said, “With the elimination of Abu Ismail earlier &
now these three Abu Mavia , Furkan & Yawar, group that attacked Amarnath
pilgrims is wiped out.
The encounter broke on Monday afternoon when the militants opened fire on an Army convoy, on its way to Srinagar, at Qazigund on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway. UNI
