Dec 26: A diesel trader was gunned down by criminal in Akhandnagar area
here on Monday following which agitated crowd torched a police jeep.
Police sources here on Tuesday said diesel trader Gaurav
Singh, resident of Tazuddin village near Rahulnagar market, was shot dead by
criminals on Monday late evening. Four criminals on two motorbikes came to his
shop and opened fire at Gaurav. Panic gripped the area after the incident, nearby shopkeepers closed the shops and started protesting. Deputy Superintendent of police, Kadipur, Devi Prasad Shukla reached at the spot with police force but agitated crowd torched the police jeep. Following which DSP Shukla called for additional force to control the situation.
Additional police force was deployed in the area and police tried to nab the criminals. UNI
