Dec 22: Nepalese Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a meeting of
the top five parties on Friday, to resolve the impasse regarding the hold-up of
the ordinance regarding the National Assembly election at the President’s
Office.
Mr Deuba has called a meeting of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML,
CPN (Maoist Centre), Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal and Sanghiya Samajwadi Forum
Nepal at 1100 hrs, Nepal daily Kathmandu Post, quoting a source close to PM’s
residence in Baluwatar, said. The left alliance of the CPN-UML and CPN (MC) had expressed reservations after the government proposed single transferable vote system in the ordinance that was sent with to the President for authentication. UNI
