JAMMU,
DECEMBER 20: A
meeting of Water & Sanitation support organization, (WSSO) was today
chaired by secretary PHE Irrigation & flood control, M Raju to review IEC
and HRD activities in Jammu.
The
meeting was attended by Chief Engineer Jammu, Ashok Gandotra, Chief Engineer
Srinagar, Abdul Wahid, Joint Director planning Manoj Kumar, Deputy Director
Information and PR, AtulGupta, FACAO, M Amir, Executive Director CCDU, K
KMangotra, SE Kargil J K Sharma, PLO, PHE Shabir Ahmad and other officials of
PHE Department.
A
detailed discussion was held regarding IEC activities. The participants gave
their valuable suggestions for taking up new IEC activities.
During
the meeting, it was decided that state-wide campaign on sanitation will be
launched to educate the people about hygiene, judicious use and protection of
water resources.
The
CCDU functionaries briefed the Secretary about the planning and procedure for
the campaigns. M Raju also reviewed the utilization and availability of funds
for IEC activities.
It
was also decided to put up hoardings with slogans about
sanitation and judicious use of water in schools, colleges, bus stands and
other important locations to aware people about the importance of water sanitation and
water usage.
A
power point presentation was given about the future plans of the department to
carry the mission.
The
meeting also decided to involve reputed NGOs to achieve mass awareness about
sanitation and conservation of water.
