Jan 8: As many as 37 people injured in three separate road accident
yesterday while moving towards Ambassa with BJP supporters to attend Amit
Shah’s pre-election rally.
All of the injured have been undergoing treatment in
respective hospital while BJP announced to take care of their medical expenses.
Party president Biplab Kumar Deb told the victim families that the party would bear all expenses for their treatment and if required they would be shifted to outside Tripura for better medication. The local leaders were asked to stand with the victim families.
Police said first accident occurred at S K Para of Dhalai district when a Bollero Maxi truck carrying BJP supporters skidded out from the road for saving a goat kid. At least 22 people were injured in the accident and three of them were stated to be serious and shifted to Dhalai district hospital.
The second accident was reported at Khowai where at least 13 people including women were injured. The bus was carrying the supporters from Ambassa rally and in the Atharamura hill range it rolled into a ditch lost the control at the evening. The villagers and police rescued the passengers at night and shifted them to hospital where seven have been stated to the critical.
In another incident, two BJP supporters injured at Manik Bhandar of Dhalai when returning from the rally. Their motorbike has headed on collision with a BSF vehicle coming from opposite direction. The injured were undergoing treatment in Dhalai district hospital. UNI
