JAMMU, JANUARY 19: Minister for Information Technology Imran Raza Ansari informed the house that four villages of Abdullan, Dawar, Gujaran and Malangam in Gurez have mobile network services being provided by various service providers.
Replying to a joint question of Legislators Sofi Yousuf and Javid Ahmed
Mirchal, the Minister informed that as per the status report of Department of
Telecommunications, Govt of India, four out of 28 villages of Gurez have
mobile network facility.
He further informed that Airtel is already providing mobile network
services at Tad and would be extending it to Hajitra, Dringla and Bayadi in
2019-20.
Giving details, he informed that the survey regarding teleconnectivity
in the state is already being conducted by the Centre and it has been completed
in 16 districts including Bandipora and is expected to be completed in the
remaining districts soon.
The Minister said that the Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora would be
directed to enquire into the issue related to the non-availability of mobile
connectivity during late hours.
