Hyderabad, Jan 3: Telangana
Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahendar Reddy on Wednesday launched
first-of-its-kind Technology Fusion Centre at Hyderabad City Police
Commissionerate.
Talking to newsmen on the occasion, Mr Reddy said it was an access centre to a wide variety of structured and unstructured data from various sources to improve response times through aggregation, analysis, and dissemination of actionable information to the field officers.
“It is a collaborative effort of multiple agencies that provide resources, expertise, and information with the goal of maximizing their ability to detect, prevent, investigate and respond to any crime incidents and threat activities”, he said.
The DGP said “This centre is a replicate (miniature) of Command and Control Centre (CCC) for Police which will setup in 20 storied building, at Banjara Hills to be operational by this year end. All the technologies related to the police force are tested in the ‘Fusion Centre’ to install at the main CCC. It will pave the way to be functional on the launching day itself”, Mr Reddy said.
He said that such miniature centers would be developed at all the Districts/Commissionarates and all the centers would be connecting to the main CCC.
If all the miniature centers to be connected to the main CCC, the power of technology can be experienced to each and every police officer in the field from any party of the state including remote areas, Mr Reddy said and added that the idea is to ensure the Telangana State become a crime free State with an objective to attract investments from all over the globe and ensure that it stands for safety and security.
Replying to a question, Mr Reddy said a total of 10 lakh CCTV cameras will be installed in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) during the next three years. Of them 1.67 cameras were installed at vulnerable places so far, he said. UNI
