New Delhi, Jan 4: Congress Member M Veerappa Moily on Thursday criticised the government for the shifting of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) headquarters to Chandauli, the home district of Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, and said it will affect the morale of the personnel.
The Home Ministry has recently cleared the proposal of the CRPF to change the location of the proposed group centre from Taralu in Karnataka to Chandauli under the Varanasi division in Uttar Pradesh.
Speaking during Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha, Dr Moily alleged that everything was being shifted to UP.
The Union Home Minister was born on July 10, 1951 in a farmer’s family in the Babhora village under Chakia tehsil of Varanasi district, now under the Chandauli district.
Gaurav Gogoi, Congress, demanded that a Vice-Chancellor be appointed at Tezpur University in Assam on merit basis at the earliest, as teachers' position there was being affected.
Ajay Mishra, BJP, said the government should be alert regarding crypto-currency and worldwide payment system 'Bitcoin' and said initiate proceedings in this direction so that small traders were not harmed.
Ravneet Singh, Congress, said 14 gurudwaras in Canada have banned the entry of Consulate and officials, and this way importance of Sikhs is being tarnished. He alleged that pro-Khalistani people were behind it and asked the government to take action in this matter.
