Srinagar, Feb 12: The Srinagar-Jammu national highway, connecting the Kashmir valley with the
rest of the country, has been closed on Monday following fresh snowfall and
slippery road conditions, a traffic police official said.
'We have suspended traffic on the Srinagar-Jammu national
highway following fresh snowfall at Qazigund and Jawahar tunnel,' he told.
He said it was still snowing at Jawhar tunnel, Shaitan Nallah and Qazigund.
Traffic will be resumed on the highway only after getting green signal from the traffic officials posted at different places on the highway.
The border roads organization (BRO), responsible for the maintenance of the highway was on the job to put through the traffic, he said. UNI
