PNB scam: Rajnath says `effective' action being taken

New Delhi, Feb 16: On a day when the Government suspended passports of Nirav Modi and Mehul Chokshi, two key accused in alleged multi-crore rupee Punjab National Bank scam, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said ``effective action' will be taken in the matter/ Reacting to charges leveled by the opposition against the NDA government in the alleged scam which rocked the public-sector bank, Mr Singh said,'the authorities have quickly swung into action and an effective action is being taken.' 

Mr Singh was speaking at the sidelines of 71st raising day of the Delhi Police here. He praised the Capital's lawkeepers for nabbing the Indian Mujahideen fugitive Junaid, who was being traced by the different security agencies for the past 10 years. He was arrested on Tuesday by the Delhi Police from Banbasa in Uttarakhand. UNI
