Agartala, Feb 23: The CPI-M Tripura state committee today submitted two memorandums demanding shifting of counting centre for Takarjala and Golaghati tribal reserved assembly constituencies to elsewhere from Jampuijala considering the threat perception.
Though the state by and large maintained the tradition of free and fair polling on February 18 last, it was quite different in some parts of both the constituencies where allegedly IPFT miscreants have been procreating mischief even after polling, which is raising questions over fair counting.
The memorandum cited some instances stating when BJP candidate of Golaghati Birendra Kishore Debbarma was allegedly distributing cash among the voters at Pal Para, a day before the polling, he faced wrath of the villagers for his electoral malpractice. Then the police rescued him from the mob.
Thereafter, the BJP and IPFT miscreants broke away all the doors and windows of the permanent CPIM office at Dayarampara of Golaghati. While returning from Bhakta Thakur Para after poll, allegedly IPFT workers attacked the CPI-M election agent Pulin Bardhan and they looted away all articles from him. They set the party office on fire. UNI
