Kannur,
Mar 13: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Panchayat unit president T Santhosh
suffered stab injuries in an alleged attack by a three-member CPI(M) gang on
Monday night.
In a protest against the attack, a dawn-to-dusk hartal was being observed by
the BJP district committee in Muzhappilangad Panchayat on Tuesday.
Police said 50-year-old Santhosh, an auto rickshaw driver, was attacked by the gang at Kettu near Muzhappilangad. He was admitted to the Thalassery Indira Gandhi Cooperative hospital. The gang led by Rahul of Muzhappilangad attacked him with swords and iron rods, when Santhosh was on the way to this house on a bicycle last night.
Meanwhile, CPI(M) Muzhappilangad local committee denied its role in the attack. Edakkad police registered a case.
In another incident, the car of BJP State council member C V Vijayan at Mattanur, parked at his house, was came into attack by miscreants at the wee hours on Tuesday. UNI
