New Delhi, Mar 10: President Ram Nath kovind on Saturday directed that Commerce Minister Suresh Prabhu would hold additional charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
'The President of India, as advised by the Prime Minister, has directed that Mr Suresh Prabhu, Cabinet Minister, shall be assigned the charge of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, in addition to his existing portfolio,' the communique said.
Mr Ashok Gajapathi Raju had on Thursday resigned as Civil Aviation Minister following directions from the Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu that he along with Mr YS Chowdhry resign from the Union Cabinet, in protest against the non-fulfillment of the TDP demand for according special category status to Andhra Pradesh. UNI
