New Delhi, Mar 10: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi
urging him to bring a bill in the Parliament to put an end to sealing drive in
Delhi.
Mr Kejriwal has written to the Prime Minister
and Congress president Rahul Gandhi over the issue of on going sealing drive in
the national capital and has sought time to meet both the leaders to discuss
the matter.
In the letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Kejriwal said, 'The reason behind sealing is that there are some anomalies in the law and it is the responsibility of the Union government to remove these anomalies. Now the only solution to the sealing is to immediately bring a Bill in Parliament to remove anomalies in the law and to save thousands of traders from getting unemployed.'
'I urge you that a Bill should be immediately brought in Parliament to stop the sealing drive and those shops which have been sealed should be immediately opened,' Mr Kejriwal said.
The Chief Minister has also requested for a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss this 'very serious' issue.
In a separate letter to the Congress President, Mr Kejriwal has requested Mr Gandhi to raise voice against MCD Sealing matter within Parliament.
In the letter to Mr Gandhi, Mr Kejriwal urged the Congress President to strongly raise the sealing issue in Parliament and force the Centre to bring the Bill on it.
'This is the issue where we have to bring out the solution by rising above the politics,' Mr Kejriwal said.
Mr Kejriwal has also sought an appointment with Mr Gandhi to discuss the sealing issue.
The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday threatened to go on a hunger strike if the sealing problem is not resolved before March 31.
'If the sealing problem is not resolved before March 31, then Kejriwal will sit on a hunger strike. We will put pressure on the Central Government,' the CM said while interacting with traders at Amar Colony market where BJP's Central Government controlled MCD did the sealing forcibly. UNI
