BANDIPORA, MARCH 15: District Development Commissioner Bandipora today
nominated 20 officers from the administration as Swatch Bharat Mission (SBM)
ambassadors for achieving the target of Open Defecation Free (ODF) status to
the district by June 30.
In this connection, a meeting of all concerned
officers was held here today under the chairmanship of DDC Bandipora Sajad
Hussain to review the further plan of action. It was decided that the concerned
Officers will adopt different villages which have low Individual House Hold
Latrines (IHHL) coverage.
The meeting decided that concerned BDO's along with
VLW, GRS, panchayat inspectors and revenue field functionaries including
Patwaries, Numberdars and Chowkidars shall facilitate the nominated officers.
Reviewing the status of IHHL in the district, it
was given out that as per the baseline survey of October 2014 there was a
requirement of construction of 43000 IHHL, of which 22000 IHHL have been
constructed while as remaining 21000 IHHL will be considered during next three
months.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the
officers to work with missionary zeal so that the target of 30th
June to declare Bandipora as ODF district is achieved.
He said the three officers who perform the best to achieve the target shall be
facilitated at a special function on 30th
June.
The DDC also asked the nominated officers to
interact with the general public of the concerned villages and make them aware
of the benefits of the construction of IHHL under SBM.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora
Khursheed Ahmad Sanaiin, ACR, ACD were present on
the occasion besides other concerned Officers.
