RAMBAN, MARCH 03: District
Development Commissioner, Ramban Tariq Hussain Ganai today convened a meeting
to discuss the modalities for implementation of National Nutrition Mission
(NNM) in identified ICDS Block - Gool.
In the meeting, the DDC said that NNM
implementation strategy shall be based on intense monitoring and Convergence
Action Plan right upto the grassroots level.
He further said that the programme would strive to
reduce the level of stunting, under-nutrition, anaemia and low birth weight
babies. It would also create synergy; ensure better monitoring and issue alerts
for timely action, he added.
The DDC assigned the duties and responsibilities to
all stakeholder departments and directed them to nominate a nodal officer from
their respective department for successful implementation of Block Convergence
Action Plan under NNM.
He directed the departments to organize awareness
programmes under NNM at all levels to educate the masses about the scheme,
besides distributing the IEC material in the area.
He also nominated SDM, Gool as Head of Block
Convergence Committee of NNM and directed him to closely monitor implementation
of NNM being stating at Gool as Pilot Project.
ADC, Gurivinderjeet Singh, CMO Dr Saif-ud-Din,
Executive Engineer PWD S.S Andhi, Executive Engineer PHE Vijay Kuamr, Tehsildar
Gool, Mohd. Ashraf and officers of various departments were present in the
meeting.
