New Delhi, Mar 13: The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day on Tuesday amid uproar by the
Opposition parties over issues related to their demands for their respective
states.
As soon as the House reassembled in the post lunch session, members from the Telugu Desam Party(TDP), Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(DMK) rushed to the Well and shouted slogans in support of their demands.
The members from Telugu Desam Party were sloganeering and displaying placards for immediate implementation of Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh. They were also supported by their rival YSR Congress Party.
When repeated requests by Deputy Chairman P J Kurien to allow the House to proceed failed, he adjourned the House for the day.
Earlier, when the House met in the morning, it was adjourned till afternoon. UNI
