Five killed, 3 hurt as car hits tree in Telangana

Khammam, Mar 9: Five people including a bridegroom were killed on the spot and three others injured when the Innova car in which they were travelling lost control and dashed against a roadside tree at Pallipadu of Konijerla Mandal in this district on Friday morning.

Police said, the accident occurred when the newly married couple along with their relatives were proceeding to Vardhannapeta in Warnagal District of Telangana after their marriage at Tanuku in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh which is held last night.
The injured, including bride, were admitted to Government hospital, here for treatment.
The deceased were identified as Ramakrishna Prasad, Sharat, Sridevi, Padma and Driver Venu.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway, police added. UNI
