Amaravati, Mar 8: Continuing his anger on THE BJP-led NDA government at the Centre, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said people losing faith on the National Parties as both Congress and BJP did 'injustice' to the state.
Speaking in the Assembly, before Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu has to present the budget, the Chief Minister deplored that one National party, the Congress, bifurcated the combined AP state irrationally while the BJP meted out injustice by not granting Special Category Status (SCS).
“When the then Congress led UPA Government at the Centre was carrying out the process of bifurcation of combined AP state after closing the doors of Parliament, why the BJP remained a silence spectator then. Even after bifurcation, the BJP meted out injustice to AP by denying to grant due benefits. After noticing this, we have lost faith on National parties” he added.
The BJP cooperated for the bifurcation of the state as creation of smaller states is its ideology. But, when the procedure of bifurcation was going in a wrong way, it is the party responsibility BJP to raise objections but it did not do so. “National parties should act with responsibility, keeping in view the the interests of the nation. In order to check the arbitrary policies of the then Prime minister Indira Gandhi, former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao launched the Telugu Desam Party to protest self-respect of Telugu people” Mr.Naidu said in the house.
Referring to Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s comments at a press conference on Wednesday, the Chief Minister said that it was painful.
The Chief Minister quoted the Finance minister remarks as “we cannot extend funds to AP on sentiment basis or yielding to the political pressure. We cannot give the entire funds to AP as the Centre is to extend funds to all states”. Mr.Naidu claimed that his demands are not impossible demands or illegitimate as he asked the Centre to fulfil the Reorganisation Act 2014.
Interestingly, the Chief Minister appreciated the two BJP ministers-Minister for Health K Srinivas and Minister for Endowment M Manikyala Rao, who had resigned today, for their efficient work. UNI
