New Delhi, Mar 8: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Thursday said women empowerment wasthe need of the hour and
also a challenge in front of the world community.
Ms Mahajan extended her wishes to all members of
Lok Sabha on International Women's Day.
In a reference in the House on the occasion, Ms Mahajan said the theme of this year's International Women's Day is 'Time is now: Rural and Urban activists transforming women's lives.'
The Speaker said it was essential that both women and men were equally empowered.
'If we all work in the direction for the inclusive development of women, then I am confident India's development will take wings,' she added. UNI
